I’m Robert J. Sutherland. My wife and I have raised our four children in Snohomish County, and I believe it may be the best place in the world to live and raise a family.

After graduating high school I volunteered to serve in the U.S. Air Force. Later I earned a degree in Biochemistry from Gonzaga University. I spent my career researching DNA and developing cancer therapies here in the Puget Sound area.

Over the years, we’ve enjoyed an active life of giving back. I was an Officer in a 501(c) (3) charity that awarded grants to students studying Scottish music, dance and language. I’ve raised money for Children’s Hospital in Seattle, and I’ve coached basketball at the Boys & Girls Club. And my wife is currently a leader in the Snohomish County 4H Equine program where our youngest daughter helps teach younger girls how to ride and take care of horses safely.

As a husband and father, a biochemist, and a Veteran, I’ve learned being honest and speaking the truth is the best way to live one’s life and to get things done–not by endless arguments, debates, and dirty politics. And I’ve realized over the years that people want a different kind of political representation–someone who is not a professional politician and who is not afraid to speak plainly and honestly about the problems we face and the potential solutions to solve them.

I would appreciate your vote for Snohomish County Council.
